Hyundai Australia reveals the sleek design of the high-performance Ioniq 6 sedan model
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, a high-performance electric sedan, was unveiled on July 10, 2025, boasting impressive specifications and a focus on both performance and aerodynamics.
This new model, designed for EV enthusiasts, promises a power output of 650 PS (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds using N Launch Control. The top speed is approximately 257 km/h (160 mph).
The Ioniq 6 N features a revamped "N Battery" management system designed for optimal temperature control to support track driving scenarios. This enhanced thermal control reduces battery conditioning time, ensuring sustained high performance. The sedan is equipped with an 84 kWh battery.
Handling and suspension have been significantly upgraded. Redesigned suspension geometry provides better driver feedback and control, while a lowered roll center reduces body roll during cornering. Enlarged caster trail improves steering feel, and new Electronically Controlled Stroke (ECS) dampers balance comfort with track-ready handling.
Upgraded N e-shift technology is available in all drive modes, offering motorsport-inspired close gear ratios. A new N Ambient Shift Light indicates optimal shift points, and the N Drift Optimizer offers a broader range of custom settings for drift control.
Aerodynamics and design have not been overlooked. The Ioniq 6 N boasts a wider stance and flared fenders for increased track width and grip. A motorsport-inspired swan-neck rear spoiler increases downforce and high-speed stability. Lightweight performance wheels reduce unsprung mass for better suspension response. The car is offered in a new "Performance Blue Pearl" color that enhances its visual depth and performance identity.
The Ioniq 6 N has a slightly longer wheelbase than the regular Ioniq 6, measuring 2,965 mm.
In terms of pricing, the starting price in South Korea is around 77 million won (~$55,000). Given the pricing pattern of the Ioniq 5 N, the starting US price for the Ioniq 6 N is expected to be around $68,000, positioning it above the Tesla Model 3 Performance in price.
The Ioniq 6 N is set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, allowing fans to get up close and personal with this technologically advanced, aerodynamically optimized electric sedan. With its focus on improving aerodynamics for high-speed handling and its wider, more sporty stance on the road, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is poised to make a significant impact in the high-performance EV segment.
