HPQ Silicon Launches Commercial Battery Production with Novacium's Technology
HPQ Silicon, a leading Canadian energy storage solutions company, has taken a significant step forward in the lithium-ion battery market. The company has started concurrent production of its first HPQ ENDURA+ lithium-ion cylindrical battery cells, incorporating Novacium SAS’s GEN3 silicon-based anode technology.
This move marks the commercial launch of HPQ's battery technology under the new HPQ ENDURA brand, which was introduced in July 2025 in collaboration with Novacium as a key R&D partner. The partnership focuses on developing and producing advanced silicon-based anode materials aimed at higher energy density and longer cycle life.
The first batch of 18650 and 21700 cells is scheduled for delivery by the end of September 2025. These cells offer enhanced performance, including around 1,000 full charge-discharge cycles and increased energy capacity (4,000 mAh for 18650 and 6,000 mAh for 21700 cells), validated independently.
The agreement allows HPQ Silicon to launch its own battery production operations in parallel with Novacium. This collaborative production model is designed to meet market needs more quickly. HPQ's production efforts will be powered by Novacium's advanced technology transfer.
