Vauxhall has taken the automotive world by storm with the unveiling of their latest concept car, the Corsa hatchback concept. This electric hot hatch, set to debut in Gran Turismo 7 this autumn, promises to redefine performance and design standards.

Steve Catlin, managing director of Vauxhall, expressed his excitement, stating that the car takes the GSE sub-brand to the next level. The Corsa hatchback concept accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in a blistering 2.0 seconds, boasting a top speed of nearly 200 mph.

The Corsa hatchback concept maintains a similar footprint to the standard Corsa but with a lower and wider stance. Its dimensions are 4.19m long, 1.87m wide, and 1.4m tall, with a 2.65m wheelbase. Despite housing a large 82 kWh battery pack, the car weighs a mere 1,170 kg.

The design of the Corsa hatchback concept draws on Vauxhall's motorsport heritage, displaying a new, more technical execution of the brand's bold and pure design philosophy. Aerodynamic features such as deeply sculptured aero skirts, turbulence-reducing wheels, a large active diffuser, and a spoiler that raises as an airbrake, contribute to its impressive speed and agility.

Moreover, the Corsa hatchback concept's design direction may influence future GSI models. Its aero features also nod to the three-spoke alloys from hot Vauxhalls of old, adding a touch of nostalgia to this high-performance electric vehicle.

While it's unlikely to ever go on sale in its current form, the Corsa hatchback concept may challenge the Renault 5 Turbo 3E in the future. The person responsible for the company that developed the 800-hp electric hot hatch called Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is the CEO of Opel, the company behind this vehicle showcased at IAA 2025.

Vauxhall's Corsa hatchback concept is not just a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and performance; it also demonstrates a clear view to the future of Vauxhall design. The car will be available in Gran Turismo 7 on the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles this autumn, offering players a thrilling virtual driving experience.
