Haggy Swiftly Transfers 16m Yacht Through German Canals in 7 Days
Experienced skipper Heinrich Gerhard Schroeder, better known as Haggy, recently completed a swift 7-day canal transport of a luxurious 16-meter yacht, the Prestige 520 S Line, from Holland to a location near Berlin.
The journey began with a day dedicated to testing and trial driving the vessel, ensuring it was sea-worthy for the canal date. Haggy then navigated the yacht through a series of waterways, including the Rhine, Wesel-Datteln Canal, Mittelland Canal, North German lowlands, Magdeburg, and the Elbe-Havel Canal, before reaching its final destination just short of Berlin.
Haggy's swift transport was made possible by his expertise and the yacht's size, as not all ships can be transported by land in Germany due to low bridge clearance heights. The boat transport process involved multiple stages, from ordering and producing the yacht to coordinating transport, road and canal transport, and final unloading and checking. Haggy pushed the yacht to its fastest possible speed, as the customer was eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Haggy's successful 7-day canal transport of the Prestige 520 S Line demonstrates his skill and efficiency in navigating complex waterway routes. Despite the yacht's size, Haggy managed to deliver it swiftly to its destination, highlighting the feasibility of canal transport for larger vessels in Germany.
