Guarding Kcell customers against deceitful schemes
In a significant move to safeguard its customers, the Kazakhstani telecommunications provider, Kcell, has launched a new service aimed at preventing and protecting subscribers from phone scammers.
The service, available to both Kcell subscribers and those of other operators, can be easily enabled by installing the Kcell mobile app. For iOS users, this entails navigating to "Settings" > "Phone" > "Call Blocking & Identification" and checking activ/Kcell. Android users, on the other hand, should go to "Settings" > "Phone/Calls" > "Settings" > "Caller ID & Spam" and select activ/Kcell. Instructions for enabling the service can also be found on the official YouTube channels of activ and Kcell, or in "My Settings", under "Security", then "Caller ID" for iOS users, and "Caller ID & Spam" for Android users.
The auto-dialer database maintained by Kcell contains over 50,000 fraudulent numbers, and this database is updated daily through network activity analysis and partner information. This timely updating ensures that the service remains effective in blocking new telephone fraud schemes.
Phone scammers often resort to number spoofing, aggressive communication scenarios, and psychological pressure to trick unsuspecting victims. With the introduction of this new service, Kcell subscribers can quickly enable protection on their devices, providing an additional layer of security against these nefarious practices.
Kcell was one of the first providers in Kazakhstan to offer its customers protection against phone scammers through the installation of the mobile app of the operator's platform. This move demonstrates Kcell's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its subscribers in an increasingly digital world.
