In an exciting development for the advertising industry, the media planning tool ZIS has introduced a new function that offers cross-media calculation for approximately 3,000 booking units in daily newspapers and their online counterparts, as well as an additional 2,200 units from the classified advertising sector.

Developed on behalf of the Zeitungsmarkt Gesellschaft mbH (ZMG), this new function is part of the ongoing development of ZIS, which is renowned as the 'leading planning tool' in the German print advertising market. The Hamburg-based company, mediaservice wasmuth, is responsible for the development of ZIS.

The new function has been designed to streamline media planning, making it more accessible to the market by combining reach, target group, and circulation data. Alexander Potgeter, Managing Director of the ZMG, has expressed the benefits of this new function, stating that it has made these crucial data elements significantly more accessible.

The integration of agma's data, a reliable source for reach and target group data, has made newspaper campaign planning easier and more comfortable within ZIS. The data specialists from mediaservice wasmuth are responsible for integrating the latest reach data from the recently published ma 2025 daily newspapers.

The connection to the mediaservice wasmuth software regio.planbasix provides additional benefits for targeted regional campaign management. Regio.planbasix, a browser-based application with integrated map functions, is linked via interfaces with ZIS, allowing the duo to work seamlessly together. This strengthens and enhances the efficiency of the ZIS and regio.planbasix partnership.

Matthias Wasmuth, Founder and Managing Director of mediaservice wasmuth, has also expressed his views on the new function, praising its potential to revolutionise media planning. With this new function, ZIS is now capable of full media planning for the first time, including target groups, reach, circulation, and ad prices. Integrated planning is now possible in ZIS, making it a comprehensive tool for media planners.

This development marks a significant step forward in the evolution of ZIS, offering a more efficient and streamlined solution for media planning in the German advertising market.
