Government agency GovCIO plans to acquire SoldierPoint Digital Health in a move to enhance digital health services for the VA (Veterans Affairs).

GovCIO, a leading technology solutions provider with over 3,300 employees and $1 billion in revenue, has announced its acquisition of SoldierPoint Digital Health. The deal, expected to close in the third quarter, is subject to regulatory approvals.

SoldierPoint, a company that holds the $2 billion, seven-year Connected Care Integrated Network (CCIN) contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, brings over 300 employees and over $200 million in annual revenue to GovCIO.

The acquisition has several implications and benefits for telehealth services for veterans.

Implications

  1. Expansion and Scale: With GovCIO's resources, SoldierPoint will scale more rapidly, enabling further investment in next-generation telehealth solutions. This expansion will deepen SoldierPoint's impact within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), enhancing support for existing programs and partnerships.
  2. Continuity of Service: The acquisition ensures continuity for customers, as the existing SoldierPoint team will continue to provide services without changes to contracts or program operations. This stability is crucial for maintaining seamless support for veterans.
  3. Integration with Existing Capabilities: GovCIO's strong position at the VA, particularly with the Veteran Benefits Administration and Office of Information and Technology, will expand with the acquisition into the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This integration will allow for more integrated and comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Benefits

  1. Enhanced Telehealth Solutions: SoldierPoint's work on the CCIN contract, which supports over 4 million veterans through telehealth and connected care solutions, will be enhanced by GovCIO's resources. This will lead to improved access to healthcare and better health outcomes for veterans.
  2. Mission Alignment: Both GovCIO and SoldierPoint share a mission focus on advancing veteran care through technology. This alignment ensures that future innovations will be dedicated to supporting veterans' health needs, potentially leading to more personalized and effective care delivery.
  3. Innovation Opportunities: The acquisition opens up new opportunities for innovation, as SoldierPoint will gain access to GovCIO's broader capabilities in IT and digital solutions. This integration could lead to the development of more advanced telehealth technologies and services tailored to veterans' specific needs.

Jim Brabston, the CEO of GovCIO, expressed excitement about welcoming SoldierPoint to the company. Kristin Gill, president of GovCIO's Veteran and Enterprise Technology Solutions (VETS) sector, looks forward to working directly with veterans and offering top-tier remote healthcare. Gill also expressed anticipation for working with SoldierPoint's team and collaborating with them to provide additional care solutions for veterans.

GovCIO plans to leverage its VA experience and emerging AI technologies to enhance the CCIN contract. The acquisition is expected to further expand GovCIO's mission in supporting veterans through its business with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
