Google's head honcho sports the company's cutting-edge smart spectacles.

Google and Samsung's joint venture in smart glasses, dubbed Project HAEAN, is set to make its debut this year, initially unveiled at Google's yearly event Google I/O 2025.

During the Android Show 2025, Android president Sameer Samat showcased a pair of the upcoming smart glasses, which appear to be an amalgamation of style options reminiscent of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses and the functionality of Samsung's Project Moohan headset. In a brief moment, Samat revealed the glasses while speaking to attendees, hinting at a myriad of Android announcements and potential demos for the event.

Project HAEAN glasses, currently believed to be manufactured by Samsung, are expected to launch later in the year alongside the company's mixed reality headset. The collaboration between Google and Samsung aims to produce smart glasses that prioritize ergonomic design, user comfort, and deep integrated AI capabilities for an immersive augmented reality experience.

The smart glasses feature a high-resolution full-color in-lens display in the right lens for discreet viewing of information, and they are designed to accommodate prescription lenses. The glasses also boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chip,, enabling Bluetooth connectivity to an Android phone to leverage the phone’s processing capabilities and neural processing unit. In terms of audio and input, the smart glasses include built-in cameras, microphones, and speakers in the arms to facilitate hands-free calls, music playback, and voice command interactions.

Project HAEAN runs on Google's Android XR platform and integrates Google’s Gemini generative AI to offer real-time translation, spatial memory features, and contextual data overlays for navigation and information retrieval. The AI-driven interaction aims to enhance productivity and daily life convenience without interrupting ongoing activities.

Although the smart glasses are currently in the prototype stage, Google is gathering feedback from testers to refine the product for a commercial release. The consumer versions of Android XR smart glasses, including HAEAN, are expected to launch in early 2026, likely through stylish brand collaborations such as Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. In contrast, Meta's Ray-Ban Meta glasses focus more on social media connectivity, while the Project HAEAN glasses emphasize augmented reality tasks and a more immersive user experience.

  1. As the Project HAEAN smart glasses approach release, they are set to join the growing array of smart-home devices and gadgets, leveraging technology and artificial-intelligence to offer an immersive augmented reality experience.
  2. The collaboration between Google and Samsung's technology is evident in the upcoming Project HAEAN smart glasses, where artificial-intelligence capabilities are deeply integrated for a productive and convenient daily life, transcending traditional gadget functions.
