Google unveils its full Pixel 10 smartphone series
Google is set to launch its latest family of smartphones, the Pixel 10 series, on August 20, 2025, during the "Made by Google 2025" event. The lineup includes four models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Pixel 10 (Standard)
Known as "Frankel", the standard Pixel 10 will feature a third rear lens, a telephoto lens, marking a first for the standard model in the Pixel lineup. The main rear camera will sport a 50 MP Samsung GN8 sensor, while the ultrawide sensor, although improved, will be less powerful than its counterpart in the Pixel 9. Powered by the Tensor G5 chip, the Pixel 10 is expected to offer improved AI capabilities, performance, and power efficiency. The device will maintain a similar design to the Pixel 9, with dimensions of approximately 152.8 x 72 x 8.6 mm. The Pixel 10 will come in four new colours: Frost (royal blue), Lemongrass (yellow), Indigo (light purple), and Obsidian (dark gray).
Pixel 10 Pro
The Pixel 10 Pro, codenamed "Blazer", shares similar dimensions with the Pixel 10. Its camera setup includes a 50 MP wide camera, a 48 MP ultrawide camera, a 48 MP telephoto camera, and a 48 MP selfie camera. The new telephoto lens for the Pro offers a 11 MP 5x zoom, similar to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pixel 10 Pro will be slightly thicker and heavier than its predecessors, and will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain (off-white), Moonstone (bluish gray), and Jade (light green) colours.
Pixel 10 Pro XL
The larger-screen Pro variant, codenamed "Mustang", is expected to share the same advanced camera array as the Pixel 10 Pro. Offering a "plus-sized" option akin to Apple’s Pro Max lineup, the Pixel 10 Pro XL will have approximately the same colour options as the Pixel 10 Pro.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, codenamed "Rango", is the successor to the 2024 Pixel Fold (Pixel 9 Pro Fold). This book-style foldable phone combines phone and tablet features, with a cover screen size increased from 6.3 inches in the previous generation, and smaller bezels. The camera setup is speculated to include a similar main camera to the Pixel 10 Pro, along with 12 MP ultrawide and telephoto cameras, and a 11 MP selfie camera. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be thicker and heavier, housed in a slightly more robust body, and will likely be available in Moonstone and Jade colours.
Design Continuity
The entire Pixel 10 lineup will maintain design continuity with the Pixel 9 series, with minimal changes, enabling compatibility with some Pixel 9 accessories. Screens will be OLED and roughly the same sizes as Pixel 9 counterparts. Phones are anticipated to have thicker and heavier bodies overall.
Google has shared an image and invited people to sign-up for more information about the Pixel 10. The Pixel 9, despite being an older model, will receive seven years of software updates. Additionally, a card appeared at the top of Google Play's "for you" page announcing the new Pixel 10 Series, and the advert on Google Play says "Meet the new Pixel 10 Series" and suggests that the devices are now available.
