Google publicly reveals sneak peek of upcoming Pixel 10 series, set to debut in August

Google is gearing up for its much-anticipated "Made by Google" event on August 20, 2025, where it is expected to unveil the latest addition to its Pixel series – the Pixel 10 lineup. The event will reportedly be livestreamed on Google's YouTube channel.

The Pixel 10 series is set to continue the design language of its predecessor, the Pixel 9, with flat sides, rounded corners, and a large camera bump. However, the base model of the Pixel 10 is rumoured to feature a notable addition – a third rear camera lens, potentially a telephoto lens previously reserved for Pro models. This move brings the base model closer to higher-tier models and competing phones like the Galaxy S25.

In terms of displays, the Pixel 10 base model will reportedly feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with a peak brightness of around 2,000 nits. The Pro and Pro XL models will maintain their previous sizes: 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch, respectively, with LTPO displays offering 1-120Hz variable refresh rates and higher peak brightness of 2,250 nits. All models will use the new Tensor G5 chipset, likely built on a 3nm or 4nm process, improving AI performance and power efficiency.

RAM and storage options vary across the series. The Pixel 10 base will come with 12GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage, while the Pixel 10 Pro will offer 16GB RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB storage. The Pixel 10 Pro XL will boast 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Battery capacities and charging speeds also differ, with the Pixel 10 boasting a 4,970mAh battery and 29W wired/15W wireless charging, the Pixel 10 Pro featuring a 4,870mAh battery with the same charging speeds, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL offering a 5,200mAh battery and faster 39W wired charging.

The camera setup is another area of interest. The Pixel 10 base could finally get a triple-camera setup, including a telephoto lens, though it might have a lower resolution than the 48MP zoom found on Pro phones. The ultrawide sensor on the base Pixel 10 might be downgraded compared to the Pixel 9. Pro models will likely retain the high-res 48MP zoom cameras and other premium photography features typical of the Pixel Pro line.

Besides the Pixel 10 series, Google is also expected to introduce a new Pixel Watch. The event teaser also mentions launching other "watches, buds, and more," indicating possible new Pixel Buds or other accessories.

Google is offering an exclusive offer for new users who subscribe to its store's emails. If users sign up by August 18, they will receive a promotional code on August 20, which is limited to a discount on one eligible device.

Stay tuned for more updates on the August 20 event! The main keynote speech will begin at 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET.

The Pixel 10 base model is said to introduce a new feature, a third rear camera lens, similar to higher-tier models and competing phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S25. Google, besides the Pixel 10 series, is also rumored to launch a new Pixel Watch and potentially other "watches, buds, and more" during the event.
