Free trial of EVE Frontier, provided by CCP, extended till July 7
EVE Frontier, a blockchain-integrated version of the popular space MMO, EVE Online, is now available for a free public trial on PC until July 7, 2025. This trial offers players an opportunity to experience the game's core features without restrictions.
During the trial period, players can engage in base building, resource harvesting, forming tribes or alliances, navigating survival mechanics, and earning temporary Grace currency, which can be converted into permanent Eve Points. These points track progress and legacy across seasonal cycles.
To play EVE Frontier, users must meet certain system requirements. These include having an Intel i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon 5450 or NVIDIA GeForce 420 GPU with at least 1024 MB VRAM, and sufficient storage for the game's client. The game is compatible with both PC and Mac operating systems.
After the free trial ends, players will need to purchase the game or acquire a Founder Access pass to continue playing. Founder Access offers exclusive benefits such as continuous updates, feedback opportunities, and additional rewards like ship cosmetics and premium subscription time. Once the game launches, it will be free-to-play with an optional subscription model included in Founder Access packs.
Founder Access passes are available at various prices, ranging from $30 to $100, depending on the tier. These passes provide permanent access to the game after the trial ends. Some community members are sharing how-to videos to help newcomers navigate EVE Frontier.
EVE Frontier incorporates blockchain technology to support server-side modding at runtime. This allows players to create and implement mods that affect gameplay without cheating, thanks to blockchain moderation. This feature is unique and allows for dynamic community-driven gameplay enhancements.
It's important to note that EVE Frontier is currently in early development and is running on a testnet. This means that all in-game assets are temporary, and no real value is tied to any assets within the game. As EVE Frontier moves closer to its full launch, it marks a key step in CCP's transition of EVE into the fully onchain gaming space.
During setup, users will also create a blockchain wallet, which is necessary for playing EVE Frontier. Newcomers may find helpful resources in the form of how-to videos shared by the community. So, gear up and prepare for a journey through the vast expanse of EVE Frontier!
