Franconia's Breweries Shine at European Beer Star 2025 with Three Golds
Franconian breweries have once again made a splash at the prestigious European Beer Star 2025 competition. A total of six breweries from the region returned home with medals, including three golds.
The Privatbrauerei Hofmann in Gutenstetten-Pahres took silver in the 'German-Style Helles' category. Meanwhile, Brauerei Göller in Zeil am Main impressed judges with its 'Göller Alcohol-Free' beer, winning gold in the 'Non-alcoholic Lager' category.
Brauerei Rittmayer in Hallerndorf also had a successful outing, earning a silver medal in the 'German-Style Festbier' category and two bronze medals in the 'South German-Style Hefeweizen Hell' and 'Non-alcoholic Hefeweizen' categories. Gebr. Maisel brewery from Bayreuth joined the gold medal club with its 'Non-alcoholic Hefeweizen'.
Other Franconian breweries that tasted success include Fürst Carl Schlossbrauerei, Privatbrauerei Hofmann, Brauereigasthof Kundmüller, Stadtbrauerei Spalt, and Zum Löwenbräu. Notably, Cervejaria Bamberg from Brazil, named after the city in Upper Franconia, won first place in the Ultra Strong Beer category.
In total, three Franconian breweries won gold medals at the 'European Beer Star' competition, with several others securing silver and bronze. This continues the region's strong tradition of brewing excellence.
