Huawei has unveiled its latest smartwatch offerings, the Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro, designed to cater to the needs of fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals.

The new watches come equipped with a host of advanced sports metrics. For trail runners, the GT 6 offers altitude trend charts, while golfers can benefit from detailed vector maps. Skiing enthusiasts will appreciate on-slope metrics, and for those who prefer cycling, the GT 6 is said to be the first smartwatch to feature cycling virtual power and FTP calculation.

In terms of wellness, the GT 6 includes features for sleep and stress tracking, ECG, arterial stiffness detection, smart notifications, daily activity tracking, and emotional state monitoring. The emotional state monitoring feature goes hand in hand with stress tracking, providing users with valuable insights into their mental health.

The GT 6 Pro features a new 1.47-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 3000 nits, ensuring clear visibility in various lighting conditions. The larger version of the GT 6 Pro boasts the octagon design that Huawei is now famous for. The 46mm model also features a raised timing bezel, which is slimmer than before.

For battery life, the GT 6 Pro can last up to 21 days on a single charge, and the smaller 41mm model can run for up to two weeks without needing a top-up. GPS battery life on the GT 6 Pro is impressive, with 45 hours in dual-band mode.

Huawei's smartwatch system relies on its own versions of apps like Petal Maps, which was developed by Huawei, due to the Android ban a few years ago. Route navigation via third-party apps like Komoot is also available.

The Huawei Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro are available now at Huawei UK. The watches come in two sizes: 41mm and 46mm. The GT 6 sells for £229, while the GT 6 Pro retails for £329. The Huawei Health app works on Android, Samsung (custom version), and iPhones, allowing users to switch between devices without needing a new smartphone. Both the 41mm and 46mm versions of the GT 6 have a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels.

Looking ahead, most smartwatches from major brands are expected to monitor heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, stress, sleep, and more by 2025. The Huawei Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro are a testament to Huawei's commitment to innovation and providing users with comprehensive health and fitness solutions.
