Giessen Christmas Market's Children's Giant Wheel Resumes Operation
After a brief closure, the children's giant wheel at the Giessen Christmas market is once again spinning, bringing joy to young visitors at the Church Square.
The incident that occurred at the ride was swiftly addressed, with a structural defect identified as the cause. The State Administration Office Giessen, in collaboration with recognized experts from TÜV Nord, promptly shut down the ride for safety checks.
Under the leadership of the RP, the error at the children's giant wheel was found, fixed, and thorough safety checks were conducted. The operator of the children's giant wheel, Giesser Kinderschweebel GmbH, implemented the changes required to address the structural defect promptly. No new structural defects were identified during these checks.
Following the successful safety checks, the State Administration Office Giessen granted approval for the changes made to the ride. TÜV Nord also approved the modifications, ensuring the ride met all safety standards. The approval was met with joy and relief by Giessen-Marketing, the organisers of the Christmas market.
Giessen-Marketing acknowledged the contribution of the RP in ensuring the safety of the children's giant wheel and thanked the competent authorities, testing institutions, and the operator for handling the matter quickly and thoroughly.
