Flow Traders Designates Thomas Spitz as New CEO
Thomas Spitz to Join Flow Traders as CEO, Bringing Decades of Financial Market Experience
Thomas Spitz, a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in the financial markets, is set to join Flow Traders Ltd. as the new Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. The appointment, subject to regulatory and shareholder approval, is scheduled to take effect on September 1, 2025.
In a recent announcement, the Board of Flow Traders nominated Spitz for election as an Executive Director at a Special General Meeting of shareholders. The Board expressed their pleasure at Spitz's joining, citing his extensive experience leading trading, sales, and research organizations at global financial institutions.
Spitz's most recent role was as the CEO of QuantCube Middle East, a technology firm specializing in alternative data and analytics. Before that, he served as Head of Global Markets at First Abu Dhabi Bank from 2022 to 2024, where he introduced carbon markets solutions in the Middle East. Prior to First Abu Dhabi Bank, Spitz spent more than 20 years at Crédit Agricole, holding several leadership roles across all asset classes, ultimately becoming Head of Global Markets Trading, FICC & Equity Derivatives.
Rudolf Ferscha, Chairman of Flow Traders' Board, expressed his gratitude to Mike Kuehnel for his leadership at Flow Traders over the past four years. To ensure a seamless transition, Kuehnel's term has been extended to August 31, 2022, during which he will assist the Board.
Thomas Spitz expressed his eagerness to meet the Flow Traders team and expand market leadership, driving strategic growth, and providing exceptional value to stakeholders.
