Expanded availability for a notable Souls-like game's DLC, albeit with a conditions attached.
title: Lies of P: Overture DLC: Secrets Unveiled in the Updated Game
subtitle: Get ready to dive back into this dark, macabre world with ease!
With the recent update for Lies of P: Overture, the highly-anticipated DLC expansion for the critically-acclaimed action-RPG, Lies of P, players now have a smoother path to access the added content. But, as with most updates, there's got to be a catch, right?
According to Lies of P: Overture's update patch notes on Steam, the devs at NEOWIZ made it so that players can tap into the DLC content from Chapter 5 at the "Path of Pilgrim" on a second playthrough. But, if you're playing Lies of P for the first time on a fresh save, no NG+, then you're still stuck hauling it up to the end of Chapter 9.
Interestingly, the update also made some tweaks to the gameplay experience. For repeat playthroughs, the difficulty of monsters has been scaled down, while certain field monsters' stats have been adjusted during your first playthrough of Lies of P: Overture. The rest of the patch notes are general bug fixes.
So, what exactly changes in Overture for your second playthrough? Well, here's a quick list:
- Benefit items like the "Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive" or "Winter Festival Peaked Hat" that didn't get properly delivered are now fixed.
- The bug that prevented quest progression after giving a bottle of beer to Salao, the Old Fisherman, has been squashed.
- Movement to unintended areas and unintended launches into the air while using the Blade Fable Arts of "Monad's Rose Sword" have been addressed.
- A bug that caused the triggered effect of the "Solutionist's Amulet" to persist even after the item was unequipped has been remedied.
- Various minor issues like icon display errors, localization and text errors, monster-related bugs, and other miscellaneous bugs have been sorted out.
It's worth mentioning that Lies of P was one of the best Xbox games of 2023. If you're a Soulslike fan and haven't had the chance to try it, we highly recommend it! The game's dark, macabre world, brutal yet satisfying combat, and unique spin on the classic tale of Pinocchio are truly a sight to behold.
Once you've had your fill of Soulslikes and want to return to the world of Lies of P, you'll be happy to know that with the recent updates, accessing the DLC during a new game plus playthrough has never been easier! So, grab your weapons, geek up on all the new additions, and prepare to jump back into one of the best Xbox and PC Soulslikes around.
