Epiphone has announced the release of six new acoustic guitars, inspired by classic Gibson models and designed in collaboration with Gibson's Custom Acoustic facility. The collection includes six vintage-inspired models: the 1942 Banner J-45, 1957 SJ-200, 1960 Hummingbird, 1963 Dove, Hummingbird Deluxe EC, and Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood.
Design Features
The new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom acoustic guitars feature the famous Gibson “open book” headstock design, rosewood fretboards, vintage gloss finishes, thermally aged solid spruce tops on some models, scalloped X-bracing for improved tone, and mahogany backs and sides depending on the model.
Playability and Aesthetics
These guitars boast V-shaped mahogany necks, teardrop pickguards, open-back tuners, and detailed decorative flourishes reflecting the original vintage guitars.
