Elks National Foundation Grants $9M to Tackle Local Needs, Aiding St. Vincent de Paul in Kentucky
The Elks National Foundation has allocated over $9 million in grants to Elks Lodges across the nation to tackle local needs. One such grant, a $1,500 Gratitude Grant, has been awarded to St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky (SVdP NKY) by the Newport Elks Lodge #273. This support comes at a critical time as food requests have surged by 40% in 2025 compared to the previous year, driven partly by rising grocery prices.
SVdP NKY, which serves over 200 families each month at its Cold Spring food pantry, received the grant to bolster its food assistance efforts. In 2024 alone, the organization provided over $1.1 million in food assistance to more than 39,000 individuals. The Newport Elks Lodge #273, a longstanding supporter, has a history of assisting SVdP NKY, having previously provided a $1,500 grant in 1962. This latest grant will help keep the Cold Spring food pantry shelves well stocked, ensuring that those in need continue to receive vital food support.
The Elks National Foundation's grant distribution, including the $1,500 awarded to SVdP NKY, underscores the organization's commitment to meeting local food needs. As food requests continue to rise, this support is crucial in helping communities cope with increased demand for food pantry services.
