EV Edison, a leading infrastructure developer, has unveiled its flagship electric vehicle (EV) charging and fleet services hub in Kearny, New Jersey. Strategically located near the Port of Newark, the Holland Tunnel, and key interstate corridors, the facility aims to support the operational needs of electrified fleets.
The hub offers a wide range of amenities to cater to both fleet operators and individual drivers. These include 24/7 high-security access, ample truck parking and staging areas, food and beverage services, a driver lounge, flexible office space, and public passenger vehicle charging.
Power capacity and charging infrastructure are key highlights of the facility. The initial phase includes 30 high-power charging ports, each capable of delivering up to 180 kW. This makes the hub the largest multi-class charging hub on the East Coast, designed to support Class 4–8 trucks, providing the high-capacity charging needed for heavy-duty fleet operations.
EV Edison has formed partnerships with innovative companies like Einride, a freight technology company known for its electric and autonomous vehicles. Einride is using the facility to stage its vehicles and offer them to regional partners for EV transport. This partnership underscores the hub's role in supporting next-generation logistics and clean freight solutions.
