Yanmar Introduces Battery-Electric Wheel Spinners to Waste Management Operations

Yanmar, a leading name in the industry, has recently introduced battery-electric wheel spinners to its waste management operations in the Greater Copenhagen area. Over the past six months, the company has been operating eight new wheel spinners, with the L 507 E model being a standout.

The L 507 E is currently in operation at ARC's packaging plant in Amager, where it works tirelessly for up to ten hours a day, continuously feeding the waste press via conveyor belts. In ARC's recycling centers, one wheel spinner is active during opening hours, operating in single-shift mode, usually seven days a week.

During a trial run, operators from ARC's recycling centers were impressed with the L 507 E's performance. The machine processes various types of waste using a shovel and forklift, performing tasks such as loading containers, feeding sorting plants, and cleaning work with a sweeper.

One of the key features of the L 507 E is its modular battery concept. This allows for longer running times on customer request by installing a second lithium-ion battery pack. The machine is also equipped with LED headlights, an ergonomic driver's cab, intuitive control elements, and a touch-operated display, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

In spring 2024, ARC conducted a one-week trial run with the Liebherr dealer partner Johs. Møllers Maskiner A/S. The L 507 E's maneuverability is ensured by the stereo steering system developed by Liebherr, providing excellent control and precision in tight spaces.

ARC manages waste disposal for several municipalities in the Greater Copenhagen area, and the introduction of these battery-electric wheel spinners is part of their commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. With its impressive performance and eco-friendly features, the L 507 E is set to play a significant role in ARC's waste management operations.
