Egypt Approves Seven Companies for IoT Vehicle Services
The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has given the green light to seven international companies to offer IoT services for vehicles in Egypt. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat oversaw the signing of these new licenses, marking a significant step in Egypt's digital transformation strategy.
The approved services prioritize user data protection and privacy. They include navigation systems, tracking features, and emergency assistance tools, all designed to enhance safety and convenience on Egyptian roads.
Seven companies have received licenses to provide these services. They are OnStar (General Motors), Mansour MG Automotive, Global Auto (BMW), Alpha Ezz El-Arab, Egyptian International Motors - EIM, Egyptian Automotive and Trading Co. (Audi, Škoda), and SMG Engineering Automotive Co. (Porsche, Scania). These companies will leverage artificial intelligence technologies to continuously improve their services.
The NTRA's approval of these IoT services for cars aligns with Egypt's digital transformation strategy and fully safeguards users' rights while protecting their data. These services are expected to enhance the driving experience, providing higher levels of safety and convenience in Egypt.
