Education provider Alef and AI specialist Liquid AI team up, aiming to introduce artificial intelligence to 1.5 million students.

In a groundbreaking move, Alef Education, a global leader in education technology based in the United Arab Emirates, has announced a collaboration with Liquid AI, a leading efficient foundation models company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This partnership aims to bring tangible, high-impact AI capabilities to diverse learning environments worldwide. According to Alef Education's CEO, Geoffrey Alphonso, this collaboration is a significant step in Alef Education's mission to enhance learning experiences and expand access to quality education for every student using technology.

Liquid AI and Alef Education are collaborating to develop private, on-device generative AI solutions tailored specifically for education technology. The partnership focuses on embedding Liquid AI’s highly efficient foundation models directly into Alef Education’s AI-driven platform, which serves over 1.5 million K-12 students across 14,000 schools globally.

The specific generative AI solutions in development include:

  1. Private, on-device generative AI integration to provide personalized learning experiences while ensuring student data privacy by keeping processing local to the device rather than in the cloud.
  2. Enabling personalized, self-paced learning workflows that use generative AI to better adapt to individual student needs and enhance productivity for teachers and schools.
  3. Supporting high-impact interventions for around 65,000 educators by leveraging AI to improve equity in learning and help teachers identify and address student challenges efficiently.
  4. The generative AI is optimized for efficiency and performance on edge devices, leveraging Liquid AI's memory-efficient LFM (Liquid Foundation Models) architecture and the LEAP platform that supports fast, low-latency inference with privacy preservation.

This collaboration aims to revolutionize educational workflows through AI-driven personalization and improved engagement across languages and subjects, including math and Arabic language programs already offered by Alef.

Dr. Ramin Hasani, CEO and Cofounder of Liquid AI, views this collaboration as a critical step towards democratizing access to advanced technology across various regions and infrastructure environments. He believes that this partnership will make the full value of generative AI accessible to everyone.

By combining Alef Education's global education platform with Liquid AI’s efficient model architecture, the partnership seeks to strengthen personalization, enhance productivity for schools, teachers, and students, and prioritize privacy and accessibility. The alliance aims to ensure that technology-driven education reaches every student, regardless of their background or location.

In summary, Liquid AI is providing efficient, edge-deployable generative AI technology customized for Alef Education's platform to deliver private, personalized, and scalable AI-powered learning experiences worldwide, prioritizing privacy, accessibility, and performance. This collaboration marks a critical step towards making the full value of generative AI accessible to everyone.
