Developed by AUSTRIACARD, an Austrian company specialising in eGovernment solutions, electronic document issuance, and secure identity management, this innovative digital certificate aims to simplify everyday vehicle-related administrative processes while ensuring security, compatibility, and regulatory compliance.
The digital vehicle registration certificate is a fully independent and modular solution, designed to undergo upgrades with minimal impact on existing systems. It is compatible with all current equipment on the market and adheres to the latest security standards and regulations, including ICAO and EU mandates. This ensures that the certificate can be trusted and reliably processed by authorities and other relevant entities.

The digital vehicle registration certificate can be activated in the "eID" app, a digital solution developed by youniqx Identity AG, the digital subsidiary of the Austrian eGovernment (OeSD). To use the digital certificate, citizens must have a full version of ID Austria and a vehicle registered in their own name. With this setup, they can present the vehicle registration data of a vehicle registered in their own name digitally on their smartphone.
