Detectronic & Netmore Deploy 90K LoRaWAN Sewer Monitors in Yorkshire Water Expansion
Detectronic's first LoRaWAN-enabled product, the PAL sensor, is set to connect to Netmore's advanced metering infrastructure. This partnership will see over 90,000 sewer monitors deployed across Yorkshire Water's network over five years, marking a significant expansion for Detectronic and a boost for smart water management in the region.
The PAL sensor, designed for domestic sewer alarm use, offers long-range, battery-powered communication with precise data delivery. It will be integrated into Netmore's LoRaWAN network, supporting Yorkshire Water's smart meter exchange program. Gavin Wagstaff, Product & Data Director at Detectronic, sees this as the start of a roadmap for more LoRaWAN-compatible devices, promising a robust, scalable, and highly accurate network monitoring infrastructure.
Detectronic's expansion in Yorkshire is set to create new job opportunities. Rob Button, Service Delivery Director, confirmed the establishment of a new base in the region to support the major contract. Over 65,000 Pressure Alarm Sensors and 27,000 LIDoTT Alarms will be deployed, aiming to create one of the world's most advanced wastewater network monitoring systems. Vadim Lyu, Netmore's UK Managing Director, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting its alignment with Yorkshire Water's environmental commitment and the network's potential for supporting multiple water management applications.
The partnership between Detectronic and Netmore promises a significant upgrade to Yorkshire Water's wastewater network. With over 90,000 sewer monitors to be deployed, this project not only enhances water management but also creates new job opportunities and supports Yorkshire Water's environmental goals.
