Delay in Octavi Navarro's Proceeding

Hey there! Let's chat about Octavi Navarro, a pixel art extraordinaire based in Barcelona.

This multi-talented chap wasn't always an illustrator, no siree. He started off as a graphic designer before finding his true calling. Now, he's been slaying it in the children's books illustration scene for years, until he launched his very own project, "Pixels Huh," about a year and a half ago. And here's the kicker - he's also been working as an artist and animator on the hit game, "Thimbleweed Park," created by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, the legends behind games like Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island.

What's he up to now? Well, he's just wrapped up illustration number 30 in the Pixels Huh series and is moving on to the sketches for the next one. Simultaneously, he's working on some fun animations and backgrounds for Thimbleweed Park. Sounds like he's got himself the best gig going!

One of his favorite illustrations from Pixels Huh is "The Fisherman's Daughter." It's a heartwarming piece where a girl, despite her family's misery, is preparing for her dad's birthday party. Even though she might not succeed this time, Octavi admires her determination, believing she'll only continue to make great things happen.

What about his workspace? He's got a tiny studio at home where he creates all his masterpieces using his trusty Wacom Intuos 3 connected to a Windows PC. That's where he works his magic in Photoshop, the industry-standard go-to tool for pixel art.

Let's talk about another artist he digs. Timothy Reynolds and his "The Great Outdoors" piece. Octavi discovered Dribbble while searching for more of Reynolds' work. He's blown away by the artist's ability to create such evocative compositions with simple shapes and perfect color management. Every time he sees it, it lifts his spirits!
