Danone Expands Ohio Yogurt Factory, Boosts Jobs and Local Economy
Danone has announced a significant expansion of its Minster yogurt factory in Ohio, USA. The project, a multi-million-dollar investment, will increase milk procurement by 60% over the next two years and create 30 new full-time jobs in the region.
The expansion, set to address increasing consumer demand for news, will include a 48,000 square-foot facility expansion, a new production line, and upgrades to existing lines. Danone's commitment to American manufacturing is evident, with 90% of ingredients and packaging materials sourced locally.
The growth comes on the heels of a strong first half for Danone, with sales growing 3% to €3.3bn. The company's second quarter also saw sales grow 2.3% on a like-for-like basis to €1.6bn, driven by high-protein yogurt in North America. This expansion is expected to further boost these figures.
The expanded capacity at the Minster factory is set to significantly increase Danone's yogurt production, meeting growing consumer demand. The project not only boosts the company's sales but also contributes to the local economy by creating new jobs and supporting local businesses through its supply chain.
