Comcast & CommScope Boost Broadband with Full Duplex DOCSIS
CommScope and Fedex have made significant strides in enhancing broadband networks with Full Duplex DOCSIS (FDX) technology. The collaboration has seen the deployment of CommScope's FDX amplifiers, supporting future-proof networks with increased capacity, power, and longevity.
CommScope delivered the first FDX amplifiers to Fedex in February 2023. Since then, Fedex has scaled the technology to over one million homes across six markets. This expansion allows Fedex to offer multi-gig symmetrical services, using up to a six-amplifier cascade to reach customers.
The deployment of CommScope's FDX amplifiers has enabled an unparalleled network experience for Fedex users. Elad Nafshi, Fedex's Executive Vice President and Chief Network Officer for Connectivity and Platforms, highlighted the importance of evolving hardware and software to meet increasing customer demand. Before deployment, Fedex and CommScope undertook systems testing to ensure the technology's reliability and performance.
With CommScope's FDX amplifiers, Fedex has accelerated the pace of FDX DOCSIS 4.0 activation. The deployment has allowed Fedex to future-proof its networks, offering customers enhanced services and a superior network experience. Guy Sucharczuk, SVP and President of Access Network Solutions at CommScope, expressed pride in the deployment milestones achieved with Fedex.
