ChatGPT Surges to 800M Weekly Users as OpenAI Expands AI Tools
OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI model ChatGPT, has revealed significant growth in its user base. The service, which launched in late 2022, has seen a remarkable increase in its user numbers and token processing capabilities.
Initially, ChatGPT attracted 100 million weekly users in 2023, processing 300 million tokens per minute. This is a substantial increase from the 500 million users it had in August 2022, processing 6 billion tokens per minute. Today, ChatGPT has over 800 million weekly active users, indicating a significant surge in its popularity.
OpenAI has also been expanding its offerings for developers. It launched AgentKit, a tool that enables developers to design, deploy, and manage AI agents. Additionally, OpenAI introduced a feature to connect with third-party services inside ChatGPT. Users can now interact with services like Spotify and Canva directly within the ChatGPT interface.
With over 800 million weekly active users, ChatGPT continues to solidify its position as a leading AI service. OpenAI's commitment to innovation, as seen with AgentKit and third-party service integration, suggests that the service will continue to evolve and attract more users in the coming months.
