Budweiser and Draftline Unveil Limited-Edition 'Home Again' Cans for Pac-Man's 45th Anniversary

In a celebration of gaming culture and unique drink flavours, Budweiser and Draftline, AB InBev's in-house creative agency, have launched a series of special edition collectible cans. These limited-edition 'Home Again' cans are a tribute to Pac-Man, a cultural icon, and mark the character's 45th anniversary.

The cans are designed by Candy Can and Ardagh Metal Packaging, and will be printed with H!GHEND technology. This innovative technology allows for designs to be printed on a shell surface with controlled distortion, facilitating the creation of 45 uniquely designed ends featuring Pac-Man-themed artwork. The cans will have a matte finish, adding to their collectable value.

H!GHEND technology also enables texts, logos, QR codes, and hashtags to be printed on side walls, making these cans not just packaging, but storytellers. Gerlof Toenhake, Director of Sales at Ardagh Metal Packaging, emphasized this point, stating that with the right design and technology, a can becomes more than packaging - it becomes a storyteller.

The 'Home Again' cans will be sold in Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Czechia, Hungary, Lithuania, and Denmark. The collaboration between Candy Can and Ardagh Metal Packaging is a perfect match, according to Sander de Jonge, Founder of Candy Can. He added that this collaboration feels like a perfect match, given Pac-Man's cultural significance.

Interestingly, the company that applied the H!GHEND technology on Heineken Enterprises' Pélican beer cans in 2023 is not mentioned in the provided search results. However, it is known that in 2023, Ardagh Metal Packaging applied its H!GHEND technology to Heineken Enterprise's Pélican craft beer cans. The on-pack design for these cans encouraged consumers to flip the pack upside down, mixing the yeast throughout the beer and optimizing the drink's flavor.

The 'Home Again' cans were created to celebrate the England Lionesses winning back-to-back European football championships. The cans are targeting consumers with an interest in gaming, design, and unique drink flavours, offering them a chance to collect a piece of gaming history while enjoying a refreshing beverage.
