Celebrating LGBTQ+ community, Apple unveils Pride Edition of its Watch series
Apple has announced the release of its new Pride Edition Sport Band for the Apple Watch, set to be available for ordering on May 23rd on Apple's website and through the Apple Store App.
The Pride Edition Sport Band showcases a vibrant and joyful rainbow of geometric shapes on a white base, with the original pride flag rainbow colours, as well as black, brown, light blue, pink, and white. The band will be priced at $49 (US) and will be compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
In addition to the Pride Edition Sport Band, Apple is also releasing a new Pride Celebration watch face. This new watch face requires watchOS 9.5 and iOS 16.5. The matching Pride Celebration watch face can be downloaded through App Clips on the Apple Watch Pride Edition Sport Band packaging, in Apple Store locations, the Apple Store app, or from Apple's website.
The Pride Edition Sport Band will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes and will be available at Apple Store locations beginning May 24th. Interestingly, while the product is listed for shipping from Austria on Apple's websites in the Austrian domain (.at), the availability in other countries is not specified in the search results. As such, Austria is the first confirmed region for the Pride Edition Sport Band, with other countries yet to be announced.
Next week, Apple will also be releasing the new Pride Celebration watch face and iPhone wallpaper. This marks another step in Apple's ongoing commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating diversity and inclusivity.
