Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport Unveils Modern New Terminal

Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport has revealed its new terminal, a major project that Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum of Braunschweig describes as a 'showcase' for the region and a vital step in its future. The new facility, completed on time and within budget, promises an enhanced passenger experience and modern working conditions.

The new terminal, spanning 825 square meters, features modern seating, barrier-free access, and updated restrooms. A spacious foyer serves as the main entrance. The structure, completed within twelve months and four million euros, has modernized the airport technically and structurally, making it more attractive and IATA-compliant.

The new building can handle both Schengen and international news. A small kiosk offers passengers an unobstructed apron view while waiting. Mayor Dennis Weilmann of Wolfsburg emphasizes the airport's role as an economic, scientific, and employment driver for the region.

The successful completion of the new terminal is credited to the general contractor Gerlach Schlüsselfertigbau, the Wolfsburger office of Bühring Architekten, and other engineering firms. The new facility is expected to improve passenger handling, employee working conditions, and the airport's overall appeal.
