Bavarian Police to Upgrade Helicopter Fleet with Advanced Airbus H145 Models

The Bavarian Police is set to receive a significant upgrade to its helicopter fleet, with the delivery of fully equipped Airbus H145 helicopters scheduled for mid-2024. This announcement marks a significant step forward in the force's mission to enhance its law enforcement capabilities.

Airbus Helicopters in Germany has already delivered the first two of eight H145 helicopters to the Bavarian Police. These helicopters are part of a global fleet of more than 200 H145 helicopters, which are in service around the world, performing public service and law enforcement missions.

The H145 helicopters for the Bavarian Police will be outfitted with advanced police equipment, including a state-of-the-art computer system, modern lighting, leading-edge camera solutions, and a next-generation hoist. These features will enable the helicopters to perform a variety of law enforcement tasks such as surveillance, transport, medevac, and rapid response.

One of the key advantages of the H145 helicopter is its twin-engine configuration with Safran Arriel 2E engines, providing reliability and power for diverse mission profiles. The helicopter also features Helionix digital avionics, which reduces pilot workload, enhancing operational safety and efficiency during complex law enforcement tasks.

The H145 helicopter is renowned for its exceptionally low acoustic footprint, making it one of the quietest helicopters in its class. This feature benefits stealth and reduces noise impact during surveillance or tactical operations. The helicopter also incorporates ballistic protection and electronic self-protection systems, critical for law enforcement missions to counter threats and enhance survivability.

The H145 helicopter's five-blade main rotor system increases stability and maneuverability, important for urban and challenging environments often encountered in police work. The helicopter is also equipped with a winch system, useful for search and rescue or tactical insertion/extraction during law enforcement missions.

The H145 helicopter's multi-role capability allows it to perform varied law enforcement tasks. With over 1,600 helicopters in the H145 family delivered worldwide and sustaining 7.6 million flight hours in service, including law enforcement agencies, the model has proven reliability.

The Bavarian Police specifically received these helicopters in 2023, highlighting the model’s current operational adoption and its specialized features tailored for their policing needs. The Bavarian Police's current fleet consists of H135 helicopters, which have been in service for more than twelve years.

The first two H145 helicopters are for pilot and crew training. The delivery of the first fully equipped police H145 is scheduled for mid-2024, marking the beginning of a new era in the Bavarian Police's law enforcement missions.

Airbus Helicopters in Germany is proud to equip the Bavarian police with the most advanced helicopters available for law enforcement missions. The Bavarian Police's use of H145 helicopters is supported by Airbus Helicopters in Germany.

The Bavarian Police's upgrade in their helicopter fleet, with the addition of Airbus H145 helicopters, is expected to boost their law enforcement capabilities, especially in the areas of surveillance, transport, medevac, and rapid response. In addition to this, the H145 helicopters will be equipped with advanced technology, such as a state-of-the-art computer system, modern lighting, leading-edge camera solutions, and a next-generation hoist, enabling them to perform a variety of tasks with efficiency and enhanced safety.
