Battery-Swapping Partnership between U Power, Shandong Hi-Speed New Energy Group, and BOCOM International Aims to Extend Reach in Hong Kong and Boost Global Growth

U Power, SHNE, and BOCOM International Team Up to Transform Hong Kong's Transportation Infrastructure

U Power, Shandong Hi-Speed New Energy Group (SHNE), and BOCOM International have joined forces to develop a battery-swapping ecosystem in Hong Kong, with plans to expand the model to Thailand and Portugal.

The partnership aims to establish a commercial EV battery-swapping ecosystem in Hong Kong, with the ultimate goal of transforming the city's fleet of commercial vehicles into greener electric vehicles (EVs). To achieve this, the partners plan to build, install, and operate a total of 50 smart, zero carbon battery-swapping stations in Hong Kong.

SHNE will invest in the construction of these smart battery-swapping stations, while BOCOM International will provide dedicated financing solutions. U Power, on the other hand, will provide technical and operational support for the battery-swapping stations.

The partnership's efforts don't stop in Hong Kong. They also plan to explore similar cooperation models beyond the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), including Thailand and Portugal. In Thailand, U Power has already operationalized Southeast Asia's first smart AI-integrated battery-swapping station in Phuket, supporting swift battery swaps for electric taxis and ride-hailing fleets. This station is designed to be weather-resilient and compatible with multiple vehicle types, including future autonomous vehicles.

The cooperation model integrates AI technology with battery-swapping infrastructure to create a scalable and replicable ecosystem that covers vehicles, swapping stations, and operational platforms. The collaboration between these companies aims to transform local transportation infrastructure into a sustainable, AI-driven system.

U Power has also introduced Battery-Token, an innovative solution using Web 3.0 blockchain and token-based economics. This solution is expected to play a crucial role in the partnership's efforts to scale battery-swapping in Hong Kong.

The partnership between U Power, SHNE, and BOCOM International is a significant step forward in U Power's business strategy, allowing for significant progress in the Hong Kong market. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technology, operational smart battery-swapping stations, and ecosystem-wide collaboration, the partners hope to accelerate EV adoption and infrastructure development in Hong Kong and beyond.
