In a significant development, authorities in Thailand conducted a raid on a private warehouse in Muang District, Samut Prakan Province, on August 5, 2025. The operation, jointly carried out by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), and Samut Prakan Police, uncovered a cache of high-tech drones and drone signal jammers imported from Singapore.

The seized items, valued in the millions of baht each, included 29 drones, 38 signal detectors, 129 signal-jamming guns, 16 jamming devices, and a van for detecting and disrupting signals. Additionally, 50 other related items were impounded.

The warehouse belongs to TRD Systems Pte Ltd, a Singaporean company that has been operating for over three years and is legally registered. The company primarily sells its high-quality drone equipment to government agencies.

The raid was prompted by a report from the NBTC about aerial vehicle signals in the Bang Pu area. Initially, the signals were linked to TRD Systems Pte Ltd. The authorities are now investigating whether the drone equipment poses a threat to national security.

This seizure comes amid heightened security concerns in Thailand about drone-related activities. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand had already issued a nationwide ban on civilian drone flights, which will continue until August 15, 2025, and possibly beyond if necessary. The authorities are also expanding the investigation to check for links to international security concerns.

The signal jamming vans seized during the raid were valued at over 40 million baht and are typically used for security purposes. The managing director of TRD Systems Pte Ltd, identified as Kritsanan, was present during the raid.

The warehouse in question is located in tambon Phraeksa of Muang district. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the potential national and international security implications of this seizure.
