Audio Equipment Manufacturer Extends 300 Series Line with Top-tier Floor Speakers
Unveiled! Acoustic Energy's New AE3202 Floorstanders Join the Refreshed 300 Series
Kickstarting the New Era for Mid-Range Loudspeakers
Acoustic Energy has just revealed its fresh AE3202 floorstanders, the latest addition to their recently overhauled 300 Series of mid-priced loudspeakers. In the beginning of this year, the British brand announced that they've entirely reimagined their 300 Series—not a single part from its 2018 predecessor made the cut.
The revamped speaker lineup comprises five models, with the top-tier AE3202 embracing technology initially developed for Acoustic Energy's 15-year-old Reference Series and their flagship £6000 Corinium floorstanders. The three-way AE3092 floorstanders boast a 12cm paper cone midrange driver, a 14cm paper cone bass driver, and a new 29mm soft dome tweeter, promising a substantial audio quality upgrade at this price range.
To pump up the bass, these new speakers sport a slot-shaped duct port at the back of each tower, which promises to minimize air turbulence for a cleaner, more precise lower-end sound.
Acoustic Energy's Resonance Suppression Composite technology finds its way into the AE3202, aiming to drastically reduce cabinet coloration and enable each driver to perform with exceptional clarity and precision.
According to Mat Spandl, Acoustic Energy's Managing Director, "We harnessed the wisdom from our Corinium project to push the limits of what's achievable in speaker design at this price point. Our goal was a speaker that delivered exceptional sound quality while seamlessly integrating into modern living spaces."
The AE3092 are available in your choice of walnut, new 'silk-touch' matte black, or white finishes, and they're fitted with aluminum feet and spike covers. Acoustic Energy promises effortless integration into any home's décor.
The AE3202 hits stores in late June, priced at £1999 / €2199. We eagerly awaited the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025 to catch a glimpse of the 300 Series, while the AE3002 standmounts (£649) are currently being tested in our review rooms. We'll soon know if that trickle-down technology was worth the investment for the new range.
