Audio content from Apple News+ now available in Canada and the United Kingdom

Apple News+ Audio, a service offering professionally narrated versions of top stories from Apple News, has expanded its reach to Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom as of July 2025. This marks the first time the service has been available outside the US.

The service, priced at $12.99 USD per month, is now included with an Apple News+ subscription and is also available through the Apple One Premier plan, which costs $37.95 USD per month.

Key new features include access to audio stories from local newspapers and magazines in these countries, in addition to top US subscription publications like The New Yorker, Bloomberg, The Atlantic, and Rolling Stone. Audio content is available within the Apple News+ app and the Podcasts app on iPhone, iPad, and CarPlay. A dedicated Audio tab has been introduced in the News app to manage queued stories and receive personalized recommendations.

Non-subscribers can preview audio stories and listen to the free daily News Today audio show. Apple produces roughly 20 audio stories per week, covering diverse categories such as news, politics, business, sports, arts, entertainment, and true crime. The platform supports stories from a broad range of premium publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and magazines like Esquire, GQ, Vanity Fair, and more.

Michael Kozlowski, a writer specializing in audiobooks, e-books, and e-readers, has been writing about these topics for eighteen years. With this expansion, Apple News+ Audio offers a richer, localized audio news experience in these Commonwealth countries.

Listeners can enjoy the audio stories on iPhone, iPad, and CarPlay, making it convenient for commuters and those who prefer not to read the top stories. The service aims to provide a comprehensive and immersive news experience for its users.
