Arctic Wolf's 2025 Cyber Insurance Outlook: Collaboration Key to Tackling Evolving Threats

Arctic Wolf's 2025 Cyber Insurance Outlook, based on a survey of 400 insurance professionals, highlights the growing complexity of cyber threats and the need for collaboration. The report underscores the importance of joint efforts between IT, financial teams, C-suite, and board members, with Managed Security Providers (MSPs) acting as strategic advisors.

Email security and network security top the list of required solutions by insurance carriers, followed by data backups, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. However, emerging concerns include AI-related issues, particularly the lack of governance around AI use, which could lead to data exposure and regulatory breaches.

Ransomware attacks remain a significant concern, accounting for around 18% of insured claims in the past year. In response, cyber insurance firms are increasingly exploring partnerships or providing their own security services to protect insured clients from modern threats. While Arctic Wolf partners with several IT and cybersecurity service providers, no direct information is available about specific insurance companies collaborating with Arctic Wolf in this context.

The report also reveals that 71% of insurance brokers are partnering with cybersecurity providers to better support their clients, with 94% offering some form of proactive assistance or support.

The Arctic Wolf report underscores the need for a collective effort to tackle evolving cyber threats. Insurance carriers are increasingly seeking robust security solutions, with email and network security leading the demand. As AI-related concerns and ransomware attacks grow, insurance firms are exploring partnerships and proactive support to better protect their clients and mitigate risks.
