Announces Increased Challenges, Enhanced Immersive Options, Additional Jesuits, and the Introduction of Bo Staff in Year 1 Plan for Assassin's Creed Shadows
Game On In the Shadow of Nobunaga is your ticket to Japan's chaotic past, and in honor of the daimyo's relentless pursuit for power, Ubisoft has unveiled its post-release plans for the game. Expect a series of patches, feature drops, and exciting additions to keep you entertained throughout the year. Here'
Let's dive into what's in store for Assassin's Creed Shadows. This month, expect a new free quest centered around Yasuke's pal, Luis Frois, some quality-of-life improvements, a photo mode update, a "special collaboration", and improvements to parkour.
This round of updates includes the much-requested addition of back ejections, side ejections, and vertical ledge jumps to help Naoe climb higher. For a better understanding of these new moves, you can check out the video above.
Now, the quality-of-life changes are what I'm most curious about. I suspect Ubi will fix the multi-sell issue, which has been causing issues for players. I'm also hoping for more additions like horses running at full speed while auto-following roads, the ability to easily switch characters in shops, and a quicksave option.
Moving on to May, Ubisoft is promising a new free quest, a new ally, new difficulty settings, "gameplay immersion options", and an "open world alarm system". The immersion options may include the upcoming option to show your headgear in cutscenes, but I'm unsure how an open-world alarm system would differ from the game's existing alarm system.
As for the future, Ubisoft promises new story content, collaborations, new Animus gear, and, most importantly, the Claws of Awaji expansion, which will introduce a whole new region to Shadows' already vast map. The release date for the expansion is still unknown.
Lastly, Naoe will receive a new weapon—a bo staff—which I must admit looks awesome.

And there you have it! Despite my reservations, I've had a more enjoyable experience with AC Shadows than with any other Assassin's Creed game since Unity. More content for it sounds good to me.
