The popular Gemini app has undergone a significant visual transformation, with a new colour scheme and logo being introduced as part of an update that is currently being rolled out. As of early July 2025, the new Gemini logo, featuring Google's signature four-color palette (red, yellow, green, and blue), has been widely rolled out on Android and iOS home screens, as well as within the Gemini app itself.

However, the web rollout of Gemini's updated brand colours is still underway and not yet complete. The updated logo and overlay colour effects, such as the new glow animation, are not yet widely available on the web.

The new Gemini logo has shifted from its original blue and purple hues to the more vibrant Google standard colours, adopting a softer, rounded sparkle shape to harmonize with Google's core branding. Android apps have received updates including the new icon and an updated system-wide overlay glow animation reflecting the four-color scheme, but this overlay and related UI elements are not yet widely available on the web.

The updated Gemini overlay has a new glow animation, and the blue-purple glow around the Gemini overlay is being replaced. The model picker tweak in Gemini emphasizes its function, while the new blue greeting is limited to the Google app beta on Android.

In promotional images, the Gemini app is always referred to as "Google Gemini", and some third-party phone makers have used the four colours in Gemini advertising to emphasize the Google connection.

Google appears to be phasing these updates gradually, with more changes anticipated over the coming weeks and months. Additional UI refinements tied to Gemini’s branding, such as changes to the splash screen and home-screen greetings, are expected in future updates, potentially aligned with Google Assistant's planned retirement later this year.

The update on the Gemini app not only includes a new color scheme and logo, but also extends to smartphones through Android and iOS, with the use of Google's signature four-color palette (red, yellow, green, and blue). However, the web rollout of these changes, including the new glow animation, is still ongoing and not yet complete.
