Airports in the region join forces with ICG for increased development
Regional & City Airports (RCA), a thriving group of airports strategically important in their regions and growing at above market rates, has announced a new strategic partnership with ICG.
Under the terms of the partnership, ICG's European Infrastructure team will collaborate with RCA to expand its airports, cargo, and executive aviation operations. The collaboration aims to enhance sustainable aviation practices within RCA, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental responsibility.
RCA's chief executive, Andrew Bell, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that RCA is ready to accelerate further with the help of ICG. The partnership follows a 12-year relationship between RCA and the Rigby Group, which has seen passenger numbers at RCA increase to more than two million, reflecting a 13% year-on-year growth.
The leadership at RCA and its workforce will work closely with ICG during this transition. Ludovic Laforge, ICG European Infrastructure managing director, stated that the partnership underscores ICG's commitment to supporting high-potential infrastructure assets.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the City of Fullerton, California, has entered into a new strategic partnership with Wisk Aero, an autonomous aviation company. The partnership aims to support Fullerton Municipal Airport's infrastructure development for autonomous air taxis. The available information does not specify the size of any financial stake by the City of Fullerton in Wisk Aero.
The partnership is expected to be finalized later this month, marking a significant step forward in the integration of autonomous aviation technology into traditional airport operations.
RCA's strategic priorities are being maintained throughout this period of development. The partnership with ICG is just one aspect of RCA's ongoing efforts to adapt and grow in response to changing industry demands.
By entering the Airport Technology Excellence Awards, companies can showcase their achievements, elevate their industry profile, and position themselves among top leaders driving aviation industry advancements. The Awards celebrate innovation, leadership, and impact in the aviation industry, providing a platform for companies to demonstrate their commitment to progress and excellence.
The Rigby Group's co-CEO, Steve Rigby, believes now is the right time for the next phase in RCA's growth in collaboration with an infrastructure fund. The partnership with ICG represents a bold step towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced future for RCA and the aviation industry as a whole.
