AI-Driven Robots Collaborate between Veho and RIVR for Enhanced E-commerce Delivery Efficiency

Austin, Texas, May 27, 2025 - Technology companies Veho and RIVR have announced an unprecedented initiative to revolutionize e-commerce delivery, starting with the deployment of AI-powered parcel delivery robots in Austin, Texas, today.
The units at the heart of this project are wheeled-legged robots, designed to navigate complex urban environments, from uneven terrain to stairs, effortlessly. While human drivers fulfill one delivery, the robots take over another, navigating from the delivery vehicle to the customer's doorstep, placing parcels according to specific instructions, and sending a success photo through the Veho app.
The goal is not to replace human drivers, but to complement their efforts. By leveraging robots, human delivery personnel can manage more packages more efficiently, with reduced physical strain, while ensuring a superior delivery experience that Veho is known for. The use of robots may be particularly advantageous in dense areas with numerous deliveries and limited parking.
The partnership intends to expand to additional markets beyond Austin later this year, based on the outcomes of the initial trial. During the trial, a RIVR employee will accompany the robot for safety and quality purposes, while both companies monitor the robot to learn its performance during real-life deliveries.
"Our partnership with RIVR marks an exciting step towards reinventing e-commerce delivery, allowing brands to turn shipping from a financial burden into a value-generating opportunity," said Itamar Zur, co-founder and CEO of Veho. He emphasized that customers prioritize reliability, speed, and cost when it comes to delivery, and this collaboration aims to find out whether human-robot collaboration can boost delivery speed, reliability, and cost, all while maintaining exceptional customer experiences.
Veho's platform enables over 84,000 driver-partners to deliver millions of packages monthly across 50 U.S. metropolitan areas, most recently launching in New York City. The technology powering its extensive distribution network and app-based platform was developed in-house, making Veho a preferred partner for robotics and AI pioneers like RIVR.
Marko Bjelonic, CEO of RIVR, stated, "The exponential growth in e-commerce has placed the last mile as the most intricate link in the logistics chain. At RIVR, we are determined to deploy one million delivery robots in the field, using General Physical AI to scale urban robotics where it is most needed." According to Bjelonic, partnering with Veho will bring their technology to the U.S., helping to deliver faster, more cost-effective services, all while creating a more human-centric model for robotics in logistics.
RIVR has addressed the last-100-yard challenge by combining its wheeled-legged design with physical AI, allowing the robot to navigate real-world obstacles with ease. Unlike sidewalk robots, RIVR's robots can operate independently of attended delivery sites and in parallel with human drivers, making multi-drop deliveries in dense urban areas a commercially viable option. Additionally, while drones offer advantages in rural areas, RIVR's robots cater to the complexities and scale of urban logistics, bringing automation to the final few meters of every delivery.
