Hewland Engineering and Brookhouse Aerospace Invest in UK's 'Automotive Valley'

Hewland Engineering Ltd, a renowned name in the automotive, defence, and aerospace sectors, has made a significant stride with a multi-million pound investment in a new technical centre in Southam, Warwickshire. This facility, located in the UK's 'automotive valley', is a cornerstone of Hewland's continued expansion.

The technical centre is led by Technical Director Mark Ingram and boasts test rigs capable of fully supporting OEM requirements. The centre's skills and facility investment bring together a comprehensive range of testing capabilities for Hewland.

According to the company's sales director, this investment strengthens Hewland's OEM offer and attracts the best engineers. Hewland Engineering continues to provide transmissions to some of the most successful racing teams worldwide. The centre's expansion also allows Hewland to deliver end-to-end drivetrain and gearbox solutions across the aerospace and defence sectors.

Hewland Engineering sees significant growth opportunities for its technology within the aerospace market. The company's focus on the aerospace sector is evident, with its new technical centre being a key part of its strategy to tap into this market's potential.

Meanwhile, Brookhouse Aerospace, another UK-based company, has invested over £500,000 in additional machinery to expand its engineering capabilities. Further investment in machining capabilities is expected over the coming months for Brookhouse Aerospace. This investment is part of Brookhouse Aerospace's wider growth and investment strategy.

In related news, Dassault Systèmes has announced that the NCC has adopted the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud and extended its use to other innovation centres within the UK High Value Manufacturing Catapult network.

Elsewhere, BAE Systems will invest £220 million to upgrade its facilities in Rochester, Kent, creating a new state-of-the-art factory of more than 32,000m. Lockheed Martin will also upgrade the Republic of Korea Air Force's F-16 Block 52 flight simulators to reflect the advanced capabilities of its modernised F-16 Viper (F-16V) aircraft.

TextureJet, a leading innovator in advanced surface processing technology, has secured a six-figure investment package. This investment is aimed at accelerating growth and innovation in surface engineering.
