Advanced Sports Technology company, TechnoSport, plans to spend a substantial 100 crores on establishing a cutting-edge activewear production facility in Odisha.
TechnoSport to Establish State-of-the-Art Activewear Factory in Odisha
TechnoSport, a leading Indian activewear brand, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha, marking a significant step towards the future of Indian manufacturing. Pranab Prakash, the head of Technosport, spearheaded the agreement during Odisha-Tex 2025.
The upcoming factory will be situated within a world-class industrial estate, anticipated to generate over $100 million in exports. This industrial estate is designed with plug-and-play infrastructure to support rapid operational scaling, providing a solid foundation for TechnoSport's growth.
The factory will incorporate a Smart Factory design, featuring semi-automation and robust traceability for garment production. This modern approach will ensure high-quality products and efficient operations. The facility is expected to create employment for more than 1,000 workers, contributing to Odisha's broader vision of industrial growth and inclusive development.
Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director of TechnoSport, views the investment in Odisha as a blueprint for the future of Indian manufacturing. He believes that this strategic location will enable the brand to tap into new markets and expand its footprint.
In addition to the factory, TechnoSport will establish a training centre in collaboration with a local university. This centre will offer technical education to workers, enabling career mobility and fostering a skilled workforce. The initiative aligns with Odisha's broader vision of industrial growth and inclusive development.
The factory will prioritise closed-loop recycling for fabric waste, demonstrating TechnoSport's commitment to sustainable practices. The facility will operate on renewable energy sources, with a target of employing over 80% women. This focus on gender equality reflects TechnoSport's dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.
The agreement involves an investment of Rs 100 crore by TechnoSport over the next three years. The industrial estate's contributions are projected to exceed Rs 7,000 crore in domestic revenues. Furthermore, the estate is projected to generate over 20,000 direct jobs, making it a significant contributor to Odisha's economy.
This collaboration between TechnoSport and the Government of Odisha is a testament to the potential of Indian manufacturing and the country's commitment to sustainable, inclusive growth. As TechnoSport sets up its state-of-the-art activewear manufacturing facility, it is poised to make a significant impact on the activewear industry and the broader economy of Odisha.
