84% of Executives Plan Remote Work Integration Post-Pandemic

A recent survey reveals that 84% of executives aim to integrate home office and remote jobs as a key restructuring goal. However, only 46% believe the remote work share will permanently exceed 30%.

The Covid-19 pandemic has driven many companies and public administrations to invest in organizational restructuring over the past one and a half years. They have recognized that even production work can be done remotely using digital technologies like augmented reality (AR).

Especially financial service providers plan to maintain or expand their remote work share. Sopra-Steria manager Martin Weisath recommends utilizing pandemic-driven experiences for future hybrid work from home jobs models. Many companies want to benefit from investments in new collaboration concepts made before the pandemic.

63% of companies and authorities provided infrastructure, introduced suitable software, and trained employees and executives for remote work. Weisath suggests linking the reorganization of work models with a realignment of business models and digitization of processes. Companies across various sectors, including consulting, manufacturing, and HR services, have employed virtual reality (VR) and AR technologies during the pandemic to develop future hybrid work models. These technologies support virtual collaboration, training, and flexible workspace design.

Companies are adapting to remote work, with 84% of executives planning its integration. While only 46% expect a permanent increase, investments in infrastructure and technologies like AR and VR are driving hybrid work models. Experts recommend aligning business models with these changes.
